Sea glass jewelry - "jewels" from the sea - have resulted from hundreds of years of past shipwrecks and from old timers dumping unwanted items into the ocean. Ocean currents carry glass remnants offshore where the ocean acts like a gigantic tumbler. From there they wash ashore on beaches around the world. Sea glass gets its smooth, frosted texture from many, many years of heavy seas and tumbling through the sand and rocks. These jewels reveal a piece of history about people, places and events that relate to the original object and can fire the imagination of wonderful things of the past.
